PPARC ADVANCED SUMMER SCHOOL: SOLAR MHD

September 4 - September 9

University of Leeds

Organisers: Dr Steve Tobias, Professor David Hughes (Leeds)

This Summer School will provide PhD students with a broad understanding of solar physics outside their PhD subject area. We will include a combination of theoretical and observational issues to give a broad overview of the important physical processes involved. However, each talk will cover not only the basics but also the current state of the art as identified by a leading member of the relevant research community. A preliminary programme is outlined below. We will have a poster session and student presentations. It is anticipated that we will have approximately 20 PPARC students and up to 20 non-PPARC students.
