I am a lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Leeds. Here, I study the fluid dynamics of the Earth's atmosphere and ocean, within the Astrophysical and Geophysical Fluids research group. Although I have more general interests in fluid dynamics and applied mathematics, much of my present research work is targeted towards modelling tides and internal waves in the ocean, and instabilities in the atmosphere and ocean.

An example of the research I do is shown left, which is a snapshot from a simple computer simulation of mixing between a warm fluid (red, top) and a cold fluid (blue, bottom), driven by a Kelvin-Helmholtz instability.
