First time since AD29?
A certain David Hathaway, age ca. 80, has a Christian ministry which was recently invited to talk in Israel by the Association of Concentration Camps and Ghetto Survivors in Israel.
This was watched by my Mum on the Net , (whom I taught to surf the Net inspite of being Mummy-age for a maths prof age 53). She reports that when he did his altar call at the end of his address, "at least 3,000" of them stood up for prayer. They may not know many Christian choruses in Israel, but they knew one of the best of all - the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah - and they all sang it together after. A large hall, an excellent orchestra and choir also featured.
Question to my readers: is that the first time since AD29 that 3000 people of Jewish race have stood up to receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour? (for the incident in AD29 consult Acts chapter 2).
Another question: given that the Lord Jesus loves Israel, who needs his touch more than the grizzled Holocaust survivors - getting greyer by the year now - and their families? Who needs His loving touch more?
Of course we don't know how many of them will truly "last the course". But i respectfully point out that we don't know that about Gentile altar calls either..
Praise the Lord!
