About me
I am a second year PhD student at the University of Leeds. I am looking at the anelastic approximation on the magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations and investigating in which parameter regimes it captures the dynamics of buoyancy and convection problems. I have a first class Masters degree from
Bristol in mathematics and physics. Fluids interest me because the problems are relatively simple to understand and yet very hard to solve.
Outside of work I try to be active. I'm very concerned by humans influence on the world. I am involved in campaigns/ activities with the aim of challengeing people to think about their actions and bring about change such as
green action. I enjoy cycling and walking; anything to get out of the concrete jungle. I'm also part of a bicycle repair collective
The Pedallers Arms.

Transfer report:, which I am happy to say I passed!
Keele talk: at
EPFDC, giving an introduction to MHD.
Masters project investigated the drag when a super-critical flow met a cylinder but I became side-tracked and looked more at the interaction of shocks in shallow water.
