If proof were needed of the importance of the methods introduced in MATH3474, note that the vast majority of Applied Mathematics research areas require application of at least one of the methods we shall study. For example, all of the pictures here represent solutions generated by numerical methods applied to problems arising in diverse areas of Applied Mathematics.
