Public Talks
I am more than happy to give talks about the context of my
work, aimed at a general audience.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested.
So far:
- The
Magnetic Sun
The scientific exploration of our star began with the advent of
telescopes in Galileo's time.
Since then, and in particular since the discovery of the Sun's magnetic
field at the beginning of the Twentieth century,
much progress has been made in the understanding of the Sun's behaviour
and its relation to the Earth.
This talk describes the main solar magnetic features (with an emphasis
on sunspots), how solar magnetism affects the Earth and
how astrophysicists address the question of the origin of
this magnetic field.
