How to Prepare for a Personal Tutoring Meetings


Personal Tutoring.

Each student in the School of Maths is assigned a member of the academic staff as his/her personal tutor.

You can find your Personal Tutor via  Leeds for Life

LeedsforLife

Year 1. You will meet your personal tutor on at least three occasions throughout the academic year. Please take advantage of these times by preparing ahead of time using the web forms on Leeds for Life. Check your e-mail for reminders!
You can also ask your personal tutor to meet with you on a one-to-one basis at other occasions.

Years 2, 3, and 4.
You will meet your personal tutor on at least two occasions throughout the academic year. Please take advantage of these times by preparing ahead of time using the web forms on Leeds for Life. Check your e-mail for reminders!
You can also ask your personal tutor to meet with you on a one-to-one basis at other occasions.

Here are some of the things you should discuss with your personal tutor:
  • Your exam results,
  • Your module choices,                    
  • Your future plans.

How to Prepare for a Personal Tutoring Meeting?
A few questions to ask yourself.
  • Were my past exam results in line with my expectations?
  • What have I achieved?
  • What are my strengths? - and weaknesses?
  • What part of my studies do I enjoy most?
  • What are my main interests?
  • Am I happy with my module choices?
  • What are some realistic goals for next semester? - for my degree? - for my career?
  • Should I take up some opportunities around the University for further development?

Write down a few notes with questions and concerns to take to your personal tutorial or print out your Leeds for Life web form!

where you will get advice or be referred to another member of staff.

Student Services Centre  (SSC)

 is located in the new Ziff Building, together with a range of other central student services. Please see the website www.leeds.ac.uk/ssc for further details on fees enquiries, visa problems and exam and graduation queries.. They operate a counter service and deal with student administration services, such as bursary/grant cheques, tender forms etc.

For general issues, such as applications for registration confirmation certificates (visa, bank letters, etc.), Council Tax exemption certificates, current student transcripts and references and student card issues please visit the SSC counter or contact SSC by e-mail at  ssc@leeds.ac.uk.
