Abstract : The classification project for simple groups of finite Morley rank has traditionally looked towards ideas from finite group theory whenever possible. We will discuss the genericity argument used to replace some forms of counting arguments. Such arguments appear recently in the degenerate type theorem and the conjugacy of good torii, as well as their corollaries. We will prove the following using this technique. Theorem. Let G be a connected group of finite Morley rank without p-unipotent subgroups. Then all p-elements of G are found in p-torii.
