The LMS provided some funds for paying expenses of LMS members and UK postgraduates attending the meeting.
Additional speakers included Michel Crouzeix (Rennes), Ken Davidson (Waterloo, Canada), Alexander Ya. Helemskii (Moscow), Tom Ransford (Laval and Oxford), Thomas Schlumprecht (Texas A and M), Hanne Schultz (Odense), Steen Thorbjørnsen (Odense), and Lutz Weis (Karlsruhe).
Accommodation for some of those attending was arranged in Tetley Hall. Here is a list of alternative hotels.
There was a display of LMS books in the Reading Room on Level 9 of the School of Mathematics during the meeting.
