A meeting of the North British Functional Analysis Seminar was held in Lecture Room L401 of Merz Court, University of Newcastle, from 2.30 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday 1st March 2002.
The speaker was Prof. Aharon Atzmon (University of Tel Aviv, Israel), who gave two talks, at 2.30 p.m. and 4 p.m., on
Invariant Subspaces: Existence and Structure.
Afterwards participants went to a pub at 5.30pm and to a restaurant around 6.30pm.
The meeting had financial support from the London Mathematical Society.

A one day conference on Operator Theory was held at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne from 9.30am until 6pm on Saturday 2nd March 2002.
Invited speakers included Prof. James Rovnyak of Virginia University, Prof. Jörg Eschmeier of Saarbrücken University, and Prof. Catalin Badea of the University of Lille.
The conference was supported by the London Mathematical Society.
