Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics and its Applications

Owing to the award of a Royal Society Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship to J. Stark, the Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics and its Applications, UCL will have a vacancy for a one year temporary lectureship from October 1st 1997. The successful candidate will be required to teach post-graduate courses within the MSc in Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos, to assist in the administration of this course and to play a full part in the activities of the Centre. A permanent lectureship (subject to usual tenure review) is offered from 1 October 1997 or as agreed. The Department seeks to appoint a candidate with a research record of high quality and a promising programme who will interact effectively with existing research interests and contribute actively to teaching programmes. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in statistical inference and in developing models with scientific data. The appointment will be on the lecturer scale A (15,593 - 20,424 pounds) or possibly on scale B (21,277 - 27,196 pounds).
