A
meeting in honour
of Dave Broomhead's 60th birthday will run from noon
on Monday, 15 November until 17:00 on Tuesday, 16 November.
The talks will range across Dave's interests, including
nonlinear dynamics, signal processing, mathematical biology
and hybrid systems.
The list of speakers includes several who will be familiar
to the UK nonlinear dynamics community, for example,
Celso Grebogi, Michael Kirby, Tom Mullin and David Rand.

The SIAM Activity Group on Dynamical Systems (SIAG/DS) will present the
J. D.
Crawford Prize (awarded to an individual for recent outstanding work on a topic
in nonlinear science) at the SIAM Conference on Applications of Dynamical
Systems (DS11) to be held May 22-26, 2011, in Snowbird, Utah. Letters of
nomination, including the citation for the paper(s), along with a C.V. should
be sent, preferably via e-mail, by October 15, 2010, to littleton@siam.org.
