Research Fellow, School of Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics, Ref. J23-1762. The School are seeking to appoint as soon as possible a Research Fellow for up to 6 months for an EPSRC funded project. This project aims to construct, adapt and analyse some models for nanoscale dynamic processes in thin film phase-change alloys, appropriate to the next generation of optical data storage media. Applicants should have a relevant PhD and be applied mathematicians or engineers with a sound mathematical and numerical modelling experience. Applicants should preferably have experience in one or more of the following areas: phase-field models, phase-change alloys, spatially extended systems, and computational, analytical and/or asymptotic aspects of nonlinear partial differential equations. Salary is in the range £20,044 pa - £24,352 pa depending on experience and qualifications. Application packs are available from www.exeter.ac.uk/jobs; e-mail P.Ashwin@exeter.ac.uk; or telephone (01392) 263969, quoting reference number J23-1762.
