News

• Subject to validation, the University of Surrey will offer an MSc programme in Mathematical Biology from September 2006 that will provide interdisciplinary training in mathematical modeling in the life sciences.

Appointments

• Dr. Andrew Burbanks has been appointed Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Portsmouth.
• Volker Betz has been appointed as a Lecturer in the University of Warwick. His research interests are asymptotics beyond all orders in quantum dynamics, especially level crossing phenomena in adiabatic quantum theory.
• Alex Beskos has been appointed as a research Assistant at the University of Warwick. Alex did his PhD with Gareth Roberts at Lancaster University, working in the area of exact sampling for diffusion processes. At Warwick he will work with Andrew Stuart and Jochen Voss on Monte Carlo methods for sampling conditioned diffusion processes.
