Follow-up: AUTO and LOCBIF
You may be interested to know that
Bard Ermentrout's interactive ODE solver xpp has an interactive interface to
AUTO, which allows menu driven problem selection, such as switching between
equilibrium points and limit cycles. In addition, the phase plane
representation and the bifurcation representation of the problem are
synchronized: One can import numerically computed limit cycles into the AUTO
window as a starting point for continuation, and one can select a point from
the bifurcation diagram and take it back into the phase plane to look at the
solution.
- For further information check Bard's Web page,
- http://info.pitt.edu/~phase.
Of course, AUTO still lacks the higher
co-dimension tools that LOCBIF has.
