(First Announcement) We announce the 3rd Conference on Mathematics Applied to Biology and Medicine which is sponsored by the European Society of Mathematical and Theoretical Biology (ESMTB). After the success of the meetings in l'Alpe d'Huez 1991 and Lyon 1993 the society wants to continue the fruitful exchange between scientists doing research in Mathematics, Biology and Medicine. The main aim of the ESMTB is to stimulate scientific research and education in the challenging fields of Mathematical and Theoretical Biology. The conference will be the major communication event and scientific platform where results and reviews can be presented. The scope of the conference and the main fields are indicated by the list of sections; presentations on newly emerging subjects will be equally welcome. The conference will be a forum especially for young scientists. The participation of young scientists is strongly encouraged.
