Arrival Information

The course will be held in the School of Mathematics in the University of Leeds. Participants for whom we have arranged accommodation (all but one of those registered, in fact) will be staying in a hall of residence on the north-western edge of campus called Henry Price Flats. All meals, except dinner on Sunday 26 July and the banquet on Wednesday 29 July, will be taken in the main University Refectory. A campus map with the School of Mathematics, Henry Price Flats and the Refectory marked is linked below:

On arrival, participants should proceed to the School of Mathematics for registration. The registration desk will be in the main entrance foyer, and will be open from 14.00 on Sunday 26 July until 16.00, when the course will be opened with an introductory lecture by Richard Ward.

The University campus is just to the north-west of Leeds city centre, about 15 minutes' walk from the railway station. If you arrive by car, there is free street parking on some of the streets around Woodhouse Common, near Henry Price Flats, and there should be no difficulty in finding a space on Sunday evening. A map showing the location of campus, the railway station, Henry Price Flats and the free parking just mentioned is linked below:

More detailed travel information can be found on the travel page.

Computer Facilities

On registration, participants will be issued with a username and password for the main University computer network, which will allow them to use the wireless network in the School of Mathematics, and the main on-campus student PC clusters. Internet connexion in the Henry Price Flats is via ethernet wall-socket. Participants should bring an ethernet cable if they wish to use this facility (the hall reception has a few cables, but not enough for all participants).
